How to Create Manual Dogbones!
For special circumstances (like our model) it was easier to create them in a sketch manually then copy and paste them where they are needed using point to point.
To create the sketch I’d make a circle the diameter of the tool (plus a little bit for a margin), and I would add two construction lines to it:

I’d use the equal constraint to make the two lines equal length

I’d make one of the endpoints coincident to the 90 degree angle intersection

Then snap the other two to each line

You are ready to extrude cut!
There are multiple ways to do this, but this was the way I found easiest!
